Study Visit of the Lake Skadar/Shkoder Commission to the Sava and Danube Commissions

During a Study Visit from 22 to 27 April 2012, the Shkoder/Skadar Lake Commission visited the Sava Commission in Zagreb, Croatia, the Danube Commission in Vienna, Austria and Lake Neusiedl near Ferto, Hungary.

The Lake Skadar/Shkoder Management Commission is the joint management body of the Skadar/Shkoder Lake, shared by Albania and Montenegro. It was established under the bilateral Agreement for the Protection and Sustainable Development of the Lake signed in 2008.

The members of the Commission participated in a study visit to similar transboundary commissions and management institutions, organized from the 22nd to the 27th of April 2012 .

The main aim of the study visit was to enhance the capacity of the Commission members through the transfer and sharing of experiences with colleagues in the International Sava River Basin Commission (ISRBC), the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR), the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management of Austria and the Northern-Transdanubian Environmental and Water Directorate in Hungary.
